When and how you can get a refund on GiftNote credits

GiftNote is built on a simple promise: you pay only for songs you actually receive. Our system is designed so that failed, abandoned, or incomplete generations never cost you a credit in the first place. But when something goes wrong after delivery, we still want to make it right.
This page explains exactly when refunds are available.
Before we talk about refunds, here's how our billing already protects you:
My Songs page, incomplete songs are labeled "Incomplete — no charge" and clearly indicate that no credit was taken.So if you tried to generate a song and something went wrong, you already paid nothing. There is no refund to request because there is no charge.
Refunds are available in these specific situations:
If our system deducted a credit despite the song not being fully delivered — for example, you see "Charged 1 credit" on a song that never finished generating — this is a bug on our end. Email us and we will refund immediately, no questions asked.
AI output is probabilistic, and sometimes results fall short of what you expected. We reserve discretion here because "didn't love it" is different from "objectively broken." Contact us with:
We will try to re-generate first (free retry). If you prefer a refund and the issue is genuine, we will refund.
If you see a duplicate payment, wrong amount, or charge you did not authorize, email us immediately. We will investigate within 24 hours and refund any confirmed errors.
If you purchased credits and our service went down before you could use them, and we could not restore access within 7 days, you can request a full refund on the unused credits.
If you purchased credits within the last 7 days and have not used any of them (your credit balance is exactly the amount you purchased), you can request a refund. Partially-used credit packages are not refundable under this policy, since we have already incurred generation costs for the songs you received.
We will decline refund requests in these cases:
If we refund the credits used to generate a specific song, that song will be removed from your account. You agree that you will not continue to use, download, share, or distribute the removed song after the refund is processed.
If we refund an entire credit package, any unused credits from that package are also removed.
GiftNote does not have recurring subscriptions, so there is nothing to "cancel" in the traditional sense. You can stop using the service at any time without any action. Credits you have already purchased remain valid until their 60-day expiry window.
We may update this Refund Policy as the service evolves. Changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance via email or a site banner. The most recent version is always available at giftnote.ai/refund.
